Even though Reiki is normally used on humans, it can also be effective to use when working with animals. Animals are much more sensitive to energy than humans. Animals are natural healers and sometimes take on their person’s problems, often to heal them. Many animals/pets give Reiki/energy healing to their owners naturally on daily basis. They seem to have a natural understanding of what Reiki is and its benefits. Once a pet has received a Reiki treatment, they will often let you know that they want more. Any pet could benefit from Reiki, from dogs, cats and small mammals to exotics, fish, or birds.
When life energy is high, animals are healthy and balanced, more relaxed, and less likely to get sick. When life energy is low, often they will be more easily affected by stress and more susceptible to disease. Using Reiki with them can accelerate their own healing process, easing pet's pain, reducing stress, and improving their quality of life. Animals love receiving the warm vibrations of Reiki energy and benefit significantly from it. Reiki helps increase the body's awareness of imbalances. Reiki works for their highest good and does the healing. Reiki can never cause any harm.
Just like human, animals can have physical, mental, emotional imbalances. If that left untreated, it could manifest illness. Reiki can help to maintain animal’s health on physical, emotional, and energetic levels. Reiki can help with behavior issues by increase an animal's feelings of relaxation and reduce tension in anxious animals, balance out other emotions issues such as anger, depression, fear. Reiki can also assist to strengthen the connection, trust, banding between an animal and owner.
Reiki is simple and easy to use, it is a wonderful alternative therapy for animals. Reiki is non-invasive and will help healing occur where it is needed most. Reiki can be done hands on or performed successfully from a distance making this a safe therapy for the animal and practitioner.
When it is useful: -
If your dog seems to bark too much, resist getting trained or tends to chew up everything in the house when alone, Reiki can help. Reiki enhances overall well-being.
Reiki is used as a complement to traditional care. It is not a replacement for appropriate veterinarian medical care. If your pet is sick or injured be sure to see your veterinarian. Reiki can work side-by-side naturally with anything your veterinarian may be using. It does not interfere with whatever veterinary care your animal may be receiving. Reiki helps in conjunction with your veterinarian care by accelerating healing, reduce pain or discomfort, increase relaxation, and reduce tension in anxious animals.
Animals decide how much reiki they want. They will move away, or practitioner will feel that the energy is no longer being accepted. The average length of a Reiki treatment is 30-45 minutes.
Pets respond very well to a Reiki treatment when they are injured or in pain once they have been accustomed to receiving it. They know how it feels and they allow us to move the energy through their body without fear. As our pets age they require a bit more attention with regular energy healings. Often Reiki eases the pain they are experiencing, whether in their joints or other parts of the body, or when they are experiencing pain of an emotional nature. At the end of their lives, a pet’s transition can be eased with the warmth and calming they receive through Reiki.

Distance Reiki is amazingly effective, and many animals prefer it. Distance healing, also known as remote healing. In this healing session, the practitioner connects with the animal through distance healing energy.
Distance healing can be a great option for an animal who is ill, traumatized, frightened, or compromised in some way because animals feel nervous about being with strangers or too hyper to sit still in a strange environment. The average length of a Reiki treatment is 30-45 minutes.
Often, an animal will respond to the Reiki energy by relaxing, licking, chewing, yawning, or lying down. Usually, they do relax and take a nice nap. The animal chooses how and if they wish to receive Reiki. The animal can move around freely, and to choose whether they wish to accept the Reiki energy on or off their body. Your dog, cat, horse, bird, or any animal can be in the backyard playing and active or napping away, doing whatever they wish during the session.
After a Reiki treatment, results can be seen within 24-48 hours. In some cases, you may notice an immediate change in your animal.
After the session, the animal will have the ability to rest when needed for a few days as well as have continuous access to fresh water because the healing can make the animal more thirsty than usual.
Follow up sessions can be scheduled according to what practitioner and the owner feel is best. Some health issues can be resolved in two or three sessions, others may take ongoing sessions on a recurring basis.
Once you are on our schedule, we will conduct the session at the scheduled day and time. Practitioner will send distance healing energy to your animal wherever he is located. You will get call about how your animal session went.
